Typeseek. A Chrome extension that identifies the type on any page.

Hover any text on a page and Typeseek tells you what it is: the font that is actually rendering (not just the stack), size, weight, line height, letter spacing, and color. One click copies the CSS. It lists every font the page uses, so you can audit a whole site at a glance.

Privacy policy

Effective date: September 2, 2026.

What data is collected. None. Typeseek does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or sensitive user data. There are no analytics, no accounts, no cookies, no tracking, and no servers involved.

Where processing happens. Everything Typeseek does happens locally in your browser. It reads the fonts of the page you invoke it on, only to display them to you, and keeps nothing afterwards.

Page access. Typeseek uses Chrome’s activeTab permission, which means it can only see a page after you explicitly invoke it there — by clicking the toolbar icon or pressing a keyboard shortcut. It has no access to your browsing otherwise.

Third parties. No data is shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party, because no data is collected in the first place.

Changes. If a future version ever changes any of the above, this section will be updated before that version ships.
